Students of Sydney Medical School

Each year, 25% of Australian students enrolled in Stage 3 at Sydney Medical School spend a Rural Clinical Year at the School of Rural Health.

These students attend our Dubbo or Orange campus for either:

  • Terms A, B, C and D; OR
  • Terms E, G, H and I.

A small number of additional places may also be available in Term F (Elective) and Term J (Pre-Internship).

Students in Dubbo and Orange complete the same curriculum as their Sydney-based classmates, within a rural context. They can expect:

  • small student-teacher ratios
  • easy access to clinical experience
  • enhanced skills acquisition
  • less commuting
  • well-equipped learning & living facilities
  • friendly country communities
