3) Rationalizing care for non-commercial diseases for the integrated human development project in Maldives.
Standard treatment protocols for six non-communicable diseases, authored by a group of experts, specifically for the Maldives has been converted to a web-based format which is accessible from a web based out-patient electronic record.
This is a World Bank funded project, awarded to Pricewater House Coopers Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. & Health Policy Research Associates (HRPA) (Pvt) Ltd. The international team from HRPA is from Australia, United Kingdom and Sri Lanka. Dr Kumara Mendis has taken on the role of a medical informatics consultant from The University of Sydney, Australia.
The piloting of the software components commenced in August 2008 after completion of the workshop for trainers' from four atolls in Male in July 2008 which Dr Mendis attended.
