Associate Professor Anthony Brown

In mid March, Associate Professor Anthony Brown took up the position of Associate Dean and Head of the School of Rural Health.

Tony is a Public Health Physician and Occupational Physician who has been working for Greater Western Area Health Service (GWAHS) for the last seven years as the Manager of Population Health (Director of the Public Health Unit).

He has had an association with the School of Rural Health since its early days, overseeing the Community Doctor Theme (now called Population Medicine). Having worked at a senior level in GWAHS he is well aware of health issues facing people in rural communities and the delivery of services to them.

Tony has worked in medical faculties in a number of other universities and he is always inspired by the enthusiasm of medical students and the dedication of those who teach them. He is looking forward to working with both groups to train doctors for rural communities.
